Production scooter motorcycles. A category that didn't exist in 1996, barely existed in 2006, and is still finding its feet now.
Scooters are the largest motorcycle category in the UK by registration volume, and the most ignored by motorcycle press. Most motorcycle journalists treat scooters as not-real bikes. We don't. They commute, they tour, they get used. The Honda PCX125 alone outsells most "proper" motorcycles by a significant margin in the UK every year — yet you'll struggle to find a serious 30-year retrospective of one anywhere else.
This category covers UK-market scooters from 50cc commuters to 750cc maxi-scooters. Era splits are typically 1996/2006/2016/2026, but many modern scooters (NMAX, C400 GT, Forza 750) only exist for the 2016/2026 eras — the older eras show GAP panels, which is itself useful information about how recent the modern scooter renaissance actually is. Verdicts are written by someone who actually rides — including a 9,000-mile solo trip — not by someone who thinks scooters are beneath them.
