Ross Rides / Gear

Equipaggiamento. Roba che si guadagna il posto.

Recommendations for motorcycle gear — helmets, leathers, gloves, boots, tools, the lot. Most of it is kit I own and use. Some of it is kit I would buy next time I needed something in that category. Where I am uncertain about a recommendation, I will say so.

Cosa diventerà questa pagina

This is a work in progress. The site went live recently and I am building out gear recommendations one category at a time, each one based on actual experience rather than affiliate-rate optimisation. The plan is sections covering:

Helmets · Jackets · Gloves · Boots · Tools · Luggage · Crash kit

Each section will include kit I have used personally, with honest commentary on what worked, what did not, and what I would buy again. Where there is a clear winner I will say so. Where there is no clear winner I will tell you that too.

In the meantime, Sportsbikeshop is the UK retailer I use most often. They stock a wider range than most, the staff actually ride, and their returns process is reasonable when something does not fit.

La versione onesta

If you are reading this site, you probably need helmets and gloves at some point. I am not going to pretend otherwise. What I will not do is build a gear page that is just a wall of affiliate links to whatever pays the highest commission rate this month.

Recommendations on this page will be based on what I would tell a friend, not what AWIN's "top performing offers" email is currently pushing. If a piece of kit is worth recommending, it gets a section. If it is not, it does not. There will not be a "best 17 helmets of 2026" listicle here, because nobody actually believes those.

Link utili nel frattempo

If you have come here looking for specific gear, the most useful thing I can do today is point you somewhere it actually exists:

Browse Sportsbikeshop UK → (affiliate link — wide UK range, reasonable prices)

For older or used gear that nobody stocks new, eBay UK is the place. I will add a proper eBay affiliate setup once that programme is approved.
