1996 → 2026 · 30 years of "progress"
Power gain +24hp 68hp → 92hp. Sport Chief makes 92hp at 4,400rpm from 1890cc. Stellican-era Spirit made 68hp from 1442cc. Bigger engine, more power, smoother delivery.
Torque change +52Nm 110Nm → 162Nm. Massive torque jump — Sport Chief's Thunderstroke 116 makes 162Nm at 2,900rpm. Pulls top gear from 30mph with no downshift.
Real cost change −$1.8k Stellican Spirit ~$15,000 in 2006 = $24,300 today. Sport Chief base is $20,499. Modern Polaris-Indian is ~16% cheaper in real terms with vastly more spec.
