30-Year Arcs / Hyper Nakeds / Ducati Streetfighter V2 Lineage
Ducati Italy

Ducati Streetfighter V2. Panigale's naked sister, finally lightweight.

The Streetfighter V2 takes the Panigale V2's chassis, strips the fairings, fits flat bars, and lengthens the swingarm 30mm for stability. New for 2026 with the same 890cc V2 engine — 120bhp, 178kg dry, lightest in segment. The Streetfighter name is recent (2009 first), and the V2 variant only arrived 2022, so this lineage is mostly recent.

What actually changed.

1996 → 2026 · 30 years of "progress"
Streetfighter name is recent, not heritage First model 2009 The Streetfighter name first appeared on the Streetfighter 1098 in 2009. Production stopped in 2013. The name was revived for the V4 Streetfighter in 2020, then the V2 Streetfighter in 2022. So while Ducati's been making nakeds for decades (Monster since 1993), the Streetfighter sub-brand is new.
Lightest hyper-naked in segment 178kg dry · 196kg wet At 178kg dry, the Streetfighter V2 undercuts every direct competitor — KTM 990 Duke (179kg dry), Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS (199kg dry), Aprilia Tuono V4 (210kg dry). Translates to flickable handling that rewards aggressive riding.
Same engine, frame, brakes as Panigale V2 Just stripped and re-bar'd Streetfighter V2 shares its 890cc engine, monocoque chassis, swingarm, brakes, suspension, electronics, and dash with the Panigale V2. The differences are: 30mm longer swingarm (more stability), flat handlebars (instead of clip-ons), no fairings, slightly higher seat (838 vs 837mm).
V2 vs V4 split: 80hp difference 120hp vs 200hp+ The Streetfighter V4 makes 215bhp+ from the 1,103cc V4. The V2 makes 120bhp from the 890cc V2. Almost all your weekly riding will use less than 100bhp — for road use, the V2 is the more rewarding bike.
Price: £14,295 OTR vs Panigale £15,395 £1,100 cheaper The Streetfighter V2 is the cheapest entry point into Ducati's modern V2 platform — £1,100 less than the Panigale. Same engine, same chassis, same electronics — just different ergonomics and bodywork.
A2 license version available 35kW restricted Like the Panigale V2, the Streetfighter is sold in a 47.5bhp A2 version. Means a sub-£15k brand-new Ducati can be a learner's first bike. Probably the most expensive A2 bike on the UK market.
