30-Year Arcs / Middleweight ADV / Ducati DesertX V2 Lineage
Ducati Italy

Ducati DesertX V2. Ducati's first proper off-roader, now lighter.

The DesertX is Ducati's serious adventure bike — 21″ front wheel, 880mm seat, long-travel suspension. First launched 2022 with the 937cc Testastretta. The 2026 V2 update drops to the new 890cc V2 engine, gains a redesigned chassis with the engine as a structural element, and saves 2kg overall. Sold as Ducati's Paris-Dakar-inspired off-road bike.

What actually changed.

1996 → 2026 · 30 years of "progress"
Ducati's first proper off-road bike 21" front wheel The DesertX is Ducati's first model with a real 21″ front wheel — the standard for serious off-road ADVs. Multistrada has 19″, every Streetfighter/Panigale has 17″. Combined with 18″ rear and proper long-travel suspension, this is Ducati's only credible off-tarmac bike.
V2 swap saves 2kg, costs 4bhp 110bhp vs 114bhp pre-2026 The V2 engine in DesertX-tune makes 110bhp at 9,000rpm. Outgoing 937cc Testastretta made 114bhp. Slight power loss — but the 8.6kg engine weight savings compensate, particularly for off-road. Torque about the same (92 vs 92Nm).
Last bike to switch to V2 platform DesertX completes the lineup The V2 engine launched in the Panigale V2 (Nov 2024), then arrived in Streetfighter V2 (early 2025), Multistrada V2 (mid 2025), Hypermotard V2 (late 2025), and Monster (2025). DesertX is the last — confirmed for April 2026 dealer arrival.
Optional 8L auxiliary tank 30L total range Stock 21L tank gives ~250 mile range. Optional 8L auxiliary tank fits under the rear seat — total 30L. For genuine adventure touring this is a must-have. Adds ~£500.
4-year warranty included Like Multistrada DesertX V2 ships with Ducati's 4Ever warranty — 4 years unlimited mileage, 2 years roadside assistance. Same as Multistrada family. Best-in-class warranty length for the segment.
Launch price £14,995 — standard will rise Limited-time offer Ducati UK has confirmed £14,995 OTR for DesertX V2 orders placed by June 30 2026. After that, expect standard pricing closer to £16,500 (in line with the outgoing 937cc model). If you want one, order before deadline.
